Coffee interferes with vitamin D absorption

Do you wake up tired and reach straight for coffee? Even if you take vitamin D, your levels may not rise.

Author: Dr. Elfana Suleymanova Medically reviewed

Coffee can interfere with the absorption of vitamin D in the body. This means that even though you take vitamin D regularly, your test result may remain low.

  • Do not take vitamin D together with coffee
  • Leave a gap of at least 4 hours between them
  • When you feel tired, drink plenty of water instead of coffee — dehydration also causes fatigue

We look not at where the pain is, but at where it comes from.
